God, spite, when it takes over, is like a dust storm blinding us to all reason. We no longer have a clear direction, but instead we are suffocated by our own bitterness. When we cast a shadow of judgement and condemnation over others, we not only block Your light, but darken our hearts.

Jesus, teach us Your humility so that we will magnify Your light. It is not for us to even concern ourselves with who deserves condemnation and punishment. You have taken that burden from us. It is You who decides, and You have chosen to show mercy.

Help us to remember daily that we are all equally in need of Your mercy, and instead of being crushed by shame, we will see that true humility lifts us up and lifts up those around us. We look to You and rely on You in everything, and that freedom and brings us joy.
