Expect God…to be for you not against you

    Romans 8:29-32 (NIV)
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he     might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called;     those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Today’s Great Truth:
When you are in Christ:
God is for you – not against you!

I.    The golden chain of God’s amazing love (vv.29-30)

    A.    He __________________________________________ us (v.29a)

        “For those God FOREKNEW…”

    B.    He __________________________________________ us (v.29b)

“…he also PREDESTINED to be conformed to the image of his Son …”

    John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—    fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

    C.    He ___________________________________________ us (v.30a)

“…those he predestined, he also CALLED…”

    D.    He ___________________________________________ us (v.30b)

“…those he called, he also JUSTIFIED …”

    2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

    E.     He ___________________________________________ us (v.30c)

“…those he justified, he also GLORIFIED…”

    Colossians 3:1-4
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is,     seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you     died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then     you also will appear with him in glory.
    Philippians 1:3-6
I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with     joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this,     that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

II.    The “Golden Chain” says that it’s all a gift!

    Ephesians 2:4-9
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even     when     we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up     with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming     ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ     Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the     gift of     God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

III. What, Then, Shall we say in response to this? (vv.31-32)

    A.    God is _____________ us --- And That’s ___________________________! (v.31)

    Psalm 3:6
I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.
    Psalm 91:7
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

    B.    God gave us _____________________ -- And He will give us ______________________         else we need! (v.32)

    Philippians 4:19-20
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 To     our God and Father be glory for ever and ever.
